This is a Excellent version of a Villeroy and Bock, Mettlach Mold 1395 Antique Beer Stein, entitled “French Cards”
On the edge of the lid it is engraved “Wm. Rodemer to John Moerlein Aug. 7”1895”
I believe that this was created in 1897 and has survived this long and is amazing that it has remained in such excellent condition. It measures about 7 5/8” at it highest point.
On the bottom is printed METTLACH AND VB then GEGEN NACHBILDUNG GESCHUTZT, 1395 and 1294
