  • Condition: Excellent original condition. Corners, rim and handle perfect. One tiny splint looks split on entire basket. Beautiful 100 year old patina. Sturdy basket with fine designs executed in walnut and bloodroot vegetal dyes.

    RARE HISTORIC CHEROKEE RIVERCANE BERRY BASKET, WALNUT & BLOODROOT VEGETAL DYES, EXCELLENT ORIGINAL CONDITION
    Beautiful Pre- Qualla Arts Cherokee Rivercane Berry Basket in rare diminutive size.  Has Diagonal and Chain designs in bloodroot and walnute vegetal dyes.  Hand carved oak handle has been worn smooth over the last century of use.  Patina is exceptional.  Left in original and untouched condition.
    Measures approximately 4.5” H (8.25” with handle) x 5” x 6” base.  Circa 1900.  Solid basket.  Priced much less than new single weave rivercane baskets go for (0+).
