    Description

From way out in the Aleutian Islands comes this miracle of a basket! Light as a feather and fine, this is an Aleut fish basket. It is 10" in diameter by 7.5" tall and in good condition. There is a break on the bottom edge repaired with glue,(see pics as they are part of the description. Every basket collection needs one of these. I am adding a photo of a basket found at Norton Sound Alaska by Admiral Nelson in the 19th century. It has the same weave but more like a bag than a cylinder. So maybe this basket is not from the Aleutians. Email questions.
