    LIZZIE YOUNGBIRD (1903-1967) MASSIVE 18” ANTIQUE CHEROKEE RIVERCANE BASKET, EXCELLENT TO MINT CONDITION!
    This early North Carolina 20th C Cherokee rivercane storage basket was made by master weaver Lizzie Youngbird who was known for these elaborate Chain and Diamond designed large baskets (see pic for similar example and Bio).  The intense and rich coloration runs throughout the basket with all these intense butternut, walnut and bloodroot vegetal dyes.  The size, artistry and condition are second to none.  She even left the original crossed cane supports in at bottom of basket!
    Please compare its quality.  A real rarity.
