German ceramic, relief, 2 L, pewter lid.
The text on the body reads:

In Freud u. Leid, trink alle Zeit. Frohlich und frei der Zecher sei.

And translates to
:
"In happiness and sorrow, drink all the time. Happy and free is the drinker."

Condition and Description:
Overall in very good condition!
Only minor condition issues, some minor dings to the pewter lid and a small chip to one of the gnome's feet (which has been touched up with paint).
A wonderful stein, with strong color and great presence!
Dimensions:
Height: ~13.9" tall from base to top of thumblift
Width: ~4.75" at the base
On the subject of shipping and handling, I have a 100% success rate(knock on wood) with the steins I have packed and shipped arriving to their new homes in perfect condition.  This stein will be well packed and shipped fully insured, USPS priority or Fedex home.
