    Description

    White pinstriped jersey, size 46.
A native of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Gilbert 'Gil' Patterson was selected in Round 1 (#7 overall) in the 1975 MLB Amateur Draft by the New York Yankees and reached the Major Leagues with that team in 1977. He continued to pitch in the Yankees farm system through the 1981 season, and for the San Francisco Giants' High-A affiliate, the Fresno Giants, the following year. After retiring as a player, Patterson served as a pitching coach and roving minor league instructor for the Oakland Athletics, then as Minor League Pitching Coordinator for the Arizona Diamondbacks, then as major league Bench Coach in 2001 for the Toronto Blue Jays (and then Pitching Coach from 2002 to 2004). Between 2005 and 2007, Patterson served as Pitching Coach for various New York Yankees minor league teams. From 2008 to 2012, he served as Minor League Pitching Coordinator for the Oakland Athletics, and from 2013 to 2015 in the same position for the New York Yankees, returning to Oakland in 2015.
