A native of Tucson, Arizona, Ed Vosberg played for the University of Arizona, and was selected in Round 3 of the 1983 MLB Amateur Draft by the San Diego Padres. His long and varied pitching career included stints with the Major League San Diego Padres, San Francisco Giants, Oakland Athletics, Texas Rangers, Florida Marlins, Arizona Diamondbacks, Philadelphia Phillies and Montreal Expos, as well as in the minor league systems of the Houston Astros, Chicago Cubs and Colorado Rockies.
