    Description

Gold All-Star Game Workout/Home Run Derby jersey. MLB Authentication No. MT00062938. (see below)
I purchased this jersey a number of years ago at auction - it may have been directly from MLB, I honestly don't remember. Today the MLB Authentication number does not appear to be in the data base, and upon inquiry this is the message I've received from MLB:
The hologram you have listed is from Deloitte & Touche. From May 2001 through January 2006, the firm of Deloitte & Touche was the exclusive third-party Authenticator for all items under the MLB Authentication Program. As Authenticator, Deloitte was solely responsible for all authentication and data entry of the hologram numbers placed on autographed items and game-used memorabilia. Any changes or updates to a hologram would have to come from Deloitte, and unfortunately, MLB has no direct access to the authenticator who witnessed this item or any data that would be helpful.

Needless to add, this does not make me happy. I simply wanted the Buyer to know ahead of time that the MLB Authentication Number doesn't work, even though it is right there on the jersey.
A native of Coshocton, Ohio, Bob Brenly played for four years at Ohio University, and was signed as an undrafted free agent in 1976 by the San Francisco Giants. He played in the Major Leagues for the Giants from 1981 to midway through the 1989 season, finally playing for the Toronto Blue Jays. After retiring as a player, Brenly became a broadcaster for the Chicago Cubs, a coach for the San Francisco Giants, a color commentator for the Arizona Diamondbacks, and then in 2001 the Diamondbacks' Manager - leading the DBacks to a World Series Championship in his managerial debut.
