    Description

Today we're offering a fantastic, antique, twined, hat basket made by Modoc Native Americans in Southern Oregon, circa late 1800's, early 1900's.
This is one of many N.W. Indian baskets collected by the Doran family of N.W. Washington over the past 40 yrs. or so. Along with baskets, there are carvings, bead-work and various other artifacts that make up this wonderful collection. It is our privilege to be able to offer this collection to you on their behalf. So please save us to your favorite sellers list so that you'll be notified as we add new listings.
The basket measures 3.5" tall and 6" in diameter. It is a very finely twined basket made of tule and is decorated with horizontal bands  in darker shades of brown.
It's in remarkable condition given it's age, with no major damage or repairs we can find. On the top of the hat someone has written what looks like initials "OL" in red paint, very small (see pic). Please examine the pictures carefully - we have provided photographs of every angle so you can determine the condition for yourself.
