    Description

    A neat and scarce variety that has been nicknamed "smoking liberty" due to the obverse die gouge that happens to right right across lady Liberty"s extended right index finger near the right corner of the shield, looking very much like she is holding a cigarette. The highest graded of the 6 pieces that PCGS has attributed is an EF45 which we sold a few months ago. NGC currently does not put this particular variety on labels for some inexplicable reason.
